--> DVD : The Art Of Card Splitting, by Marty(Martini)Grams

The Effect

Taking a deck of cards, some tools and materials and creating your own Gaff/Gimmick cards.

Cost

Well, I actually got the dvd as a gift and I'm not sure where the person I got it from bought it, but I
did a search for you guy's (How nice hehe) and it's available from Penguin Magic.com

List Price: $34.95
Our Price: $29.95
You Save: $5.00 <-- Yeah discount !! :)

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I'd say: 2-4 becouse it requires some practice and it needs to be precise.

Review

Ok the review of the dvd:

It starts with Marty sitting at a table with some guy from MagicMakers who produced the dvd.
Marty begins his talk about gaff cards and gives you some examples of what they can be.
Then he goes into detail about what you need to make your own gaff cards, he made a
special board for the job and tells you how to make it.
He even talks about the glue you should use wich works best and gives the brand name and product
code.
The guy from MagicMakers sits there and on the way asks questions to Marty, and most some of them
can possibly be questions that you (the viewer of the dvd) comes up with if you have any questions.

With the dvd he will explain 8 tricks that uses gaff cards and will explain how to make 'em.

- Card To Wallet
- Princess Cards
- 8 Card Brainwave
- Parade of the Kings
- Impossible
- Ghost of a Chance
- Hofzinser’s Card
- Hunter’s Monte
- The Dam Tricks

As a bonus he will go into detail on making acrobatic cards.

Overall

Hmm if I have to give a score to this dvd it would be 8 out of 10, simply
becouse the explanation is very good.
If you want to learn how to make your own gaff cards this is a must have dvd since you cant make them
better on your own.
Marty explains a lot of detailed stuff and if you follow him up I think you can make those cards by
your self.
You will need a little practise becouse it's a precise job, but you will manage to do it.

I have to say, I haven't made any cards with the dvd simply becouse I don't like Gaffs/Gimmicks,
but hey, thats my opinion.

Some thing I didn't like about the dvd was the MagicMakers person with Marty, becouse he just has
a few good questions the other ones he asks are not nessecary, but again, thats my opinion.

Well, this is my third post, first review, so if you have any comments, please make em so I can try to
work on the way I review and write stuff.
Hope it's usefull to. :)

Like to hear it.
Greetings,
Dennis !

Excellent review! I have this dvd as well, and I have found it invaluable. While I've gone on to just creating my own cards, rather than splitting - it's still a great resource.

If this is any indicator, keep the reviews coming!
