What you get : Five "Loops" of IT (the elastic kind)

Effect 1: Punter selects a card and it is inserted back into the deck, The magician then places the deck down on the table and makes his magical jestures. Without touching the deck, the deck cuts itself in two and shifts one half of the deck to one side, the selected card is then seen to slide out of the deck and onto the table!!!

Effect 2: A fork is placed in front of the magician and with a few magical jestures is seen to move from side to side.

Comments : I purchased this trick on the recomendation of Lawrence? (I think that's his name... he's the owner of this site?!? - Great guy!). You see I am new to magic and phoned him to see if he had any recomendations. I liked the sound of "Loops" and ordered them. When they arrived, I had clumsily broken three of the "Loops" within the first half an hour and thought I had wasted my money! I decided not to waste the other two loops and bunged the package in a drawer.

The next day I decided to have another go and have completely changed my mind. I still can't really get to grips with the card cutting, although I am sure this is my clumsiness, however moving the fork is awsome! Absolutely blows them away. Of course the first thing they do is to move their hands forward to see if there is any thread joining fork to hand and all you do is move your hand forward everso slightly and the tread pings off the fork to wrap tightly back around your wrist so they find nothing and where it can't get snagged.

They claim you can wear a "Loop" all day ready to perform, I have my doubts however because as soon as you put your hand in your pocket it gets snagged! Still a brilliant trick though, just be prepared to break your first five practising, then buy five more to perform with!

Maximus... you've obviously already got some elasticised IT, but loops is a different idea. Another wasted '1-liner' posting... deep sigh...

This is awesome. I've mentioned it elsewhere (or was that before the Great Crash).

They're not exactly a new idea (and the version I've got is a Yigal Mesika branded product), but they will introduce you to many new possibilities with thread - especially if you've grown tired of the 'old' routines like floating a banknote etc.

Not since 'The Real Floating Card' or Sankey's 'Over the Counter' has IT been so much fun.

Used as an PK utility, the gimmick is great. Although it does have to be said that in a similar way to other fragile gimmicks (like the ones used in 'Penecoin' or Gozinta), you will probably be wise to buy a couple of packs - especially if you're heavy handed.

The techniques you'll find most useful will be your own derivatives of the ones described in the accompanying literature. For sure, my own personal favourite is with sunglasses...

why not do the haunted key routine and then after the key has been examined place it on the table and do a pk effect proving it s is realy haunted.

key is then re-examinable with no idea how each effect is achieved.

NEWSFLASH

There's a new system for creating 'Loops' at will.

It's call 'T.I.E.S', and I'm just about to order...

There's apparently enough to make thousands, and a quick setup of 15 seconds per-loop.

This is what I've been waiting for for a while... as mentioned above, 'Loops' are a bit fragile and quite expensive.

BUT... what you get here (albeit for $99) is an elastic hoop 'factory'.

Consider: I usually pay about $8 for five loops, which can be killed in one performance/practicing.

This set-up, therefore, would pay for itself after you'd made 50 loops - and THEN go on for thousands more.

Never run out of elastic thread again... I'll post a review when the goods arrive!

Will do. Sounds great, as elastic thread is pretty hard to get hold of.

It's also great for making gaffed cards and stuff, so I'm hoping the 'supply' lets you take of small amounts of non-looped thread too.

I'll get in touch as soon as it arrives - $99 sounds a bit steep, but ultimately worth it if it does what it says.
