I would not normally write reviews as it may be suggested that I would not be impartial! However, this is in response to a request by Joe Muscato.
Name: Card Thru Window (Peter Marvey)
Price: £79.95
Abrakazam Type: Cards
Difficulty: 2 to 3 (depending upon technique used)
Performance time: 1 Minute
Examinable: Yes

What you get: A premade gimmick with all accessories required to perform the trick accompanied by a video which demonstrates performance and preparation.
Effect:
A card is chosen by the spectator. The magician rips the corner and gives the piece to the spectator. The magician then holds the rest of the card up by a window, where it vanishes and clearly appears on the other side of the glass. The corner which the spectator holds is found to match the card on the other side of the glass.
Comments:
The effect is stunning, and when seen performed on the video you will not believe your eyes. The vanishing of the card can be accomplished by many methods which are detailed on the video. This accounts for the range of difficulty levels.
As mentioned before, this does take some setting up and is not suitable for all environments. One question is whether it can be performed in daylight. The answer is yes but only by changing the effect slightly. This is also demonstrated on the video.
Overall, the effect looks much cleaner than the Blaine method and once mastered will definitely serve as a reputation maker for any magician, but it is only suitable for the magician who is willing to spend the time setting up and perfecting the effect. It will not be appreciated by 'magicians' who wish to perform 3 minutes after removing an effect from its package! It is totally self contained and requires no assistance or use of stooges!
Overall Rating:
9/10
