I have recently been working on a signed card trick. It's a long multi-phase routine which involves they're card popping up in many different ways in different places. Towards the start of the routine I use a sleight where I control the signed card to second from the top (this is important for the next part of the trick and also allows me to show that the card is not on the top or the bottom) but I don't know if this sleight has a proper name or not.

It is done by controlling the card to the top in whichever way I prefer and using a riffle shuffle to make it the last but one card to fall instead of the last card.

Can anyone please tell me if this has been done before and what the name of this sleight is?

So you are basically controlling the card to the top and then riffle stacking it second from top? I'm sure this has been done before but it doesn't have a specific name besides Riffle Stacking. If you have a "new" method for controlling the card to the top, we'll need a little more detail to help . Feel free to PM me if you don't want to divulge on the public forums.

It's pretty much just a standard control to the top, whether I use a standard riffle shuffle to get it to the top or a fancy sequence of cuts, there's nothing new about it really. The whole trick is a compilation of ideas and sleights that I've learnt elsewhere and used in my own way in this trick.
