I think that the about:blank is the standard title for a pop-up window ... its just the spyware messing around ... nothing out of the ordinary.

Although the spyware might not be bothering you ... i will be having drastic affects on the performance of your system ... i would be hankering for a re-build if the spyware hasnt got rid of it.

Uninstalling IE probably would help witht he pop-ups, the spyware will use your default browser to display the messages ... if you removed IE then it would probably start using firefox.
