http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic7077.php is the link to the thread and it was me who moved it for the reason that the thread was going way off topic. Any other questions?

I can't believe the title of this thread!

Abuse of power? Do you really think that separating another argument that had descended into semantics and implied insults is abuse of power? Maybe deleting all of your comments would have been abuse but simply removing that parts irrelevant to the original topic clearly is not.

I think that deleting any ones posts for any reason even a valid one without the courtesy of informing the person or giving any reason is abuse yes. To move it to a place that appears the poster and others can't get to adds to that. Further it is not an argument about semantics, but that really is not the issue.
Also now I've looked at it I notice it's been carefully selected to miss my first post and therefore change the context so that my very first post is one showing annoyance with no way of seeing why.

Firstly, the thread was moved to a location that you have full access to according to the forum, not deleted at all. True there are members here who don't have access (to all of those, you are not missing anything as there have been aproximately 3 posts there since the dove's head was started) but then again, nor do they need to see the darker side of a discussion which has been covered before in a far more civilised tone.

Ok, perhaps it isn't all semantic discussion, but it certainly seems to me that both sides were picking holes in the wording of the others arguments rather than coming up with anything original, and the whole thing was so agressive that it must have been impossible for either side to take an objective view of the subject.

As for missing the first post, I'm sure that this was not done intentionally, and if it happened whilst spiltting the thread then it will have been as a result of checking the wrong box so the missing post will be gone forever I'm afraid.

It was moved but nothing was said to me or anyone, I don't think that is the right way of dealing with things. Also the thread had it's name changed, so am I supposed to just search every thread and post in case it has been moved?
As it happens I wasn't able to access it, I don't know why but there you go.
The missing posts were not lost they were left as part of the original thread, but the result was that my first post on the new thread seemed overly harsh as the preceding posts that caused my post were missed out.

Anyhow my main point of concern which I believe Goldfish also expressed was deleting and moving things without a word or saying who had done it.
