Go Magic Go - Podcast

Go Magic Go Podcast
=================

Firstly, what is a "Podcast"? Well it takes the name from Apple's iTunes software. This feature allows you to download radio 'Broadcasts' onto your ‘iPod’ and listen to them at any time - hence "Podcasts".

However, you don't need an iPod to listen in. You can download the shows in MP3 format and listen on any portable MP3 player, or simply on your PC. You can also listen as a streaming file from their website:

http://gomagicgo.libsyn.com/

So what is “Go Magic Go”?

That is the name of such a Podcast that I've stumbled across by chance. It is put together and presented by two magicians called Andrew Payne and Keith Barber.

The show is weekly and is around 30 min long. During which, the current format treats us to Product Reviews, Ethics Discussions and general magic chat.

I've been listening to them since the first week and really enjoy it. They are currently on issue 9 (back issues are available). The Ethics discussions have been really thought provoking! They also have a good listener feedback session (listen to the current Issue (No. 9) for my Tips and Experiences with Heirloom!)

They've also started doing a separate magic course – in Podcast form. This currently focuses on The Royal Road to Card Magic. Each week contains tips and hints on a single chapter of the book. They also suggest ‘homework’ for the coming week. (Don't worry - no secrets are given away, and you need to buy the book to follow along.) I must say, these have been very good so far, and it would be great for new magicians just starting out with this text.

So, in summary:

Cost: FREE!
Score: 9/10

Anyway, have a listen, and let me know what you think!

:D

Nice one... thanks for the info. Just downloading some of them now, so I'll see what they're like.

This sounds similar to magicbroadcast.com, which is good. Jerry Cestowski has a regular weekly show on there, and you can download previous shows here:

http://www.flashcards.joejesse.com/

and you can listen to magicbroadcast at:

www.magicbroadcast.com

Enjoy!

It's the assumed to be fictitious, but very real to us, affliction of:
Compulsive Uncontrolled Purchasing Syndrome.
By the sound of things, you already have it  and it's not curable.

Is there any over the counter drug that can cure this CUPS syndrome?

No cure, only a delaying tactic of buying more Magic. Total bankruptcy might also slow things down a bit but the urge is still there so even that's not a cure. You just have to learn to live with it and love it for what it is  .

(love me, love my CUPS)

And often at conventions, there are people (known as dealers) who are there specifically to help with CUPS!

Oh yes, I can imagine that they would be VERY willing to help us.

Apologies by the way for making this thread go so utterly off topic. General threads make at least ONE page on topic don't they?
