Rune,

I only know a magic shop in holland who sells Rubber Cement, costs 6 euro, but you can also look for a good hobby store and probably find it there also.

I even was suprised to find the Rubber Cement in a magic shop over here as it is mainly just a hobby supply.

My regards,
-Dennis

The only magic store I saw selling this was SO expensive compared to visiting a bicycle shop which sells the stuff in 8cc tubes and a larger version (don't know size and exhausted and tossed away!) which worked out even cheaper than 8cc.

Alakazam told me to visit bicycle shop and spend the money I saved with them :-) Great advice. I have also seen it in shops (stationery and hobby) for card makers and scrapbooks, so there's a few ideas there.

HTH,

Vic

I had a friend spent all his money sniffing rubber glue - he ended up insolvent!!

Not all rubber cements are wrinkle-free, or so I understand. The stuff from your local art shop, or bicycle repair store might be perfect, or it might cause problems. You're only going to find out by testing it, unless you can find someone who's used that brand before you.

Rubber Cement

Postby Allen Tipton » Sep 27th, '05, 12:10

:) Try a large stationers shop and ask for Cow Gum. It was about £5 a huge tube and conatained enough for several YEARS use. Eric Lewis in his book, Opus 13 first introduced this to the magic fraternity( 1951 Goodliffe Publications ) It is still obatinable at £12. recommended for Clippo, on the hands for suspensions, in lieu of rope cement, on puppets hands(better grip) for making DF cards, etc.All this on a 2 pages. It is a transparent rubber cement. The cheaper way of using 'rubber cement' is simply Copydex, obtainable everywhere.

Rune.....

Can you tell me a bit more about what you are calling "rubber cement" and is it similar to "contact cement?" If so, In Canada........(if we are thinking about the same stuff) it is readily available in all hardware, houseware, and craft stores!

I could easily get you some!

Isnt it the stuff that you can use to glue the parts of model cars together with? If it is, that stuff is strong! I got a helicopter stuck to my hand once! Infact, it really gets in the way when im performing....

Just out of interest, Rune, what type of effect were you thinking of making using rubber cement?

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...
