Invisible Playing Cards

Postby moodini » Sep 28th, '05, 16:54

A friend of mine has a deck of these "Invisible Playing Cards".....they are really interesting. They are a regular deck of cards, but they are see through.....needless to say I like the appearance, and they would be fun to use (occasionally) in an effect, as they give the impression (because they are see through) that all is fair! They are plastic cards, so not great for flourishes, etc, but like I said, for occassional use, they would add a unique dimension to a card trick! Try the link below, and let me know what you think!

I can't really see anything from the picture (no pun intended  ) but I am sure if you got a deck you could easily apply them to something.

Maybe a variation on the Asher twist... hmmm 8)

These used to be available in the Gadget Shop before they closed down and cost £5 from memory.

I too was thinking about a practical use until I picked up a set. They felt horrible and had a soft rubbery plastic feel to them. I put them straight back down and never bothered looking at them again.

My Dad got me these at Christmas as a silly little thing to give me becuase he thought they were cool. I like them, but not for magic. Its hard to see the effects, because of the cirlces that are the back and the ones on the front with the things on them, you have to point out what has happened. Not too good.

I have two packs of the Bicycle clear plastic cards. They're pastel colored, which is a bummer.

However, they hold up nicely, but aren't as durable as say a Gemaco plastic deck. One thing I noticed that was actually cool with these - is that if your Elmsley is tight, you can pull it off even with the clear deck.

I've performed twisting the aces and other Elmsley effects with them, and the reactions are actually stronger as the cards are see-through.

Try them out. You need a GOOD Elmsley, but if you have it, these cards can make your effects slick.
