This is me performing Oz Pearlman's Emerge Triumphant.

I haven't yet got to the stage where I feel ready to show it to anybody, so please do feel free to comment as I would love to hear any possible improvements...

i liked seeing how you coped with one of the harder moves, as i cant do it like Oz does either.

I use a move that i think was shown on one of the Ed Marlo videos, cardician or legend, i'll find out for sure if you're interested. But saying that i think your way is better anyway as it's more visually deceptive.

If you'd like a decoded non-sensored version of the above let me know I'm not wanting to reveal anything.

It's funny seeing another person having trouble with light and their camera. I just spent a couple hours myself trying to get the light right so i could see cards "ok" in my webcam. I had to shut my door, curtains and turn my lights off.

The only problems I think you're having, are with the patter. I find it strange to mimic the original patter as well, and that might be your situation. Perhaps adapt the routine to your own kind of style? That's the only thing I can see you having trouble with.

Your handling is confident, your shuffles look GREAT. The mechanics of the trick are NOT something you're having trouble with. With that in mind, I saw a few TOTALLY MINOR things.

1 - You flashed your break during the dribbling of the cards (when you mentioned returning it to the deck) but the reason was the angle - and NO layman would ever pick up on it, since you're just DROPPING cards.

2 - After the face up/face down shuffle, you flash a break again. No biggie, something you can cover easily.

When you shuffle face up into face down you flashed a tiny bit there (pm me if you don't know what I'm talking about - I don't want to expose anything in public).

That's it. Nothing you aren't capable of fixing - and I think the ONLY reason I noticed is because of the angle of the camera. Your handling is superb and I think you did a great job on this trick.

Nice title sequence, as well! Keep up the great work.

True...as with somebody else here, I work on the effect here before trying to come up with a good patter. Once I see that I can do the effect OK, then I will devise something. Hopefully. Maybe.

I have a problem with flashing breaks - none of what I do is angle-proof so I have to rely on misdirection and hope...

In the patter, I revealed the climax too early and only realized the mistake once I'd finished the trick...ideally I wouldn't have said anything about the deck at the end, just spread it out.

It's a pity you couldn't see the deck - but we don't have blinds on that window so there wasn't much I could do about it. I could always refilm it somewhere else.

This is a slightly modified version of the handling as I can't anywhere near do the Marlo all-around square-up - what an impossible move! I just hold a break and forget about it.

I'm just happy I can sort of do the Flippit move - it's a very cool one...

Just to be annoying... It's called the Flippant move, not the Flippit move.

To be absolutely honest, the way you performed it, I don't really like it. Not trying to be annoying in any way but I don't like the patter. You could improve on that and the confidence in your patter.

It's an excellent finisher when you've practiced hard enough and I'm sure you can do it! I like the patter of Emerge Triumphant from Watch Magic more though.

On with the patter theme...
I would just suggest that you do not over-emphasize that it is a shuffled deck and that there are no stacks. You have just shuffled the deck in front of them so people know the cards should be well mixed and most lay-people would probably not know what a stack is anyway so there is no need to draw attention to it as they are not looking for one.
Why run if you are not being chased ?
As for the breaks...
This just seems due to the angle of your camera. Try imagining you were performing for a spectator and see where their eyeline would be. If you can film from their eyes, and this should give you a better idea of what people will see. As Demitri said though, most lay-people are not looking for the breaks so don't worry too much.
Overall though a good routine.

lol is all as if you lot are hating on da guy. nah it was good, u did see the break when you dribbled the cards and the patter was a little lonely if you get what i mean. i mean when your talking, wot i usually do is a couple of cuts, false ones. devos table cut is impressive, i do it all da tym

With regards to the patter, just do whatever YOU find your most comformatable with ... the only thing i would urge you on is speeding things up a little ... there was alot of time spent with the cards sat dormant while you talked ... just steals a little impact form this great effect.

You are getting there bud and i am REALLY impressed with the knowledge you seem to pass around the forum.
