The thread in the spider pen is not very strong, in fact magicians have been known to switch it with stronger stuff- to lift heavier objects.
My spider-pen thread has snapped so many times it has driven me insane, I no longer use the pen at all.

Thanks Ouch - that's good to know as I was specifically told different but by someone that was trying to sell me one - Nice to have the feedback from someone who's put one through the mill.

im sure theres a kevlar based thread for sale on John kennedys website.. its called "kevlex" if i remember and theres a demo vid of it lifting 4 half dollars if i rememeber correctly
