Postby jagsmagic » Oct 7th, '05, 10:25

Hi guys just another one, i brought a bird the other week which is a zebra finch, if were to do magic with animals can anyone suggest what formalities we need to complete before practise with animals

and the other question whats the best way to train a bird(sorry if this is supposed to be a secret, but i doubt it is. So therefore i have asked the question)

I would guess that since no-one answered you the first time that means that no-one knows!

There were one or two responses in connection with using Doves so a search for those might be of help but, to be honest, magic with animals doesn't seem to be a big thing on TM.

I think thats its because the old "pulling a rabbit out fo a hat" routine is so well know ... there is only one way you can produce an animal from somthing, it has to be gimmicked... it works with children perhaps ... but i think magic has moved on somewhat from working with anilmals.

yea i guessed thats why i didnt receive a reply the first time, i thought theere might be the odd one that might have done something similar ie stage shows with the use of birds etc

One reason for the lack of "Animal" magic on tv is the fact that Johnny Morris is a bit old nowadays...(nice target audience joke there?!?)

BUT another reason is the fact that a lot of councils wont allow Animal acts due to "cruelty" and animal rights issues.. this is also a reason that there arent as many animal acts in circuses nowadays

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..
