Hi all my name is kemo(well not really) and I'm 20:AH or maybe a SH depends i wouldn't really be able to tell you. I've been doin cards tricks of and on for the past 4 years(well more off then on) but in but in july I was at my sisters wedding and I was performing all my trikcs. I learned really quickly that I didn't know enought stuff. So now I'm back learning more tricks in august I learned 3 new tricks off of Oz's Born To Perform. Then I decided to have some fun and try out some street magic. It's kinda hard at first every time I have to just get that first trick under my belt and then I'm walking on a cloud and can't be stop. It really sucks though when you ask some one if they would like to see a trick and they say no. That just makes my stomach turn. So if any one has any ideas on street magic and how to take that rejection in stride please let me know. Any ways that's all I have to say for my introduction. I know its more of a life story then anything. If any one has tips or suggestion for me you can post them under "Good Card Tricks" in the support and tips section.

Hi Kemo and welcome.

I 'm sure that some of the cardies will post answers to your questions but I usually say ' thanks for your time anyway' and then move onto the next.

You only need to get one person interested and then you'll usually find that a small crowd then begins to gather.

I havn't really noticed the crowd effect yet. But thats good becasue I don't want it. I enjoy doin one trick to a group of 2 or 3 or so and then just walk away. I guess its just my style. I don't give them a chance to say "how did you do that?" or "lets see that a again"

I think that the style that you are using is often referred to as 'hit and run'.

I like because it makes you kinda mysterious, you just do the trick nothing more nothing less. and then just leave. i find it leaves an a biut bigger impact sometimes.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I wouldn't even worry if people don't want to see a trick. Magic is not for everyone and generally the kind of people that say no are the kind of people you don't want to perform for anyways. (The ones that are just jerks and do what they can to screw you up.) Anyway, welcome and good luck with all you do.

hey i1011i it's not that I'm worried about the fact that don't want to see my card trick. It's just that the rejection is always hard to take. But thank you for the advice anyways.

first, welcome!

i dont really like the hit and run, i rather would do a trick, then something simlar to the trick that you just did. like something with torn cards or torn bills and stuff

?!~

For crying out loud, the msn button under my name is to talk about magic with me, NOT A FREE MAGIC GIVEAWAY LINK. dont abuse it

Hi Kemo
1011 is right, magic is not for everyone and it's not always the right time. You have to remember as a magician you have learnt an art and a skill, some people fear that e.g imagine some chap is on a hot date with a stunnin chic and you approach them, he wants to be the centre of attention and not you, he will see you as a threat and an opportunity in his mind to belittle him in front of his hot date. I feel magic is about fooling people not making a fool out of them. It is a tricky balance betwween your spectators and your type of trick. Maybe some people just havn't got the time to stop and watch who they think has all the time in the world to play with cards. Magicians are entertainers and people will be entertained by their own choice. Dont take it to heart. My wife is not too keen on magic, she thinks it's for bigheads !!! More to the point she dont like the attention I get from the lovely ladies !!!
