The "NEO" suspension/levitation

Postby iummydd » Oct 27th, '05, 14:18

Ok
This is some thing that has been harassing my mind for some time now, usually I get most of the tricks and the "how to" rather fast but this one I just cant figure out.

I think most of you have seen the criss angel levitation episode, well one of the levitations he showed was a suspension of himself (and then a "volunteer") by standing on both lags wile the body is in 90 degree angel to the legs (and then also on one leg). I call it "neo" levitation because it reminds me of neo from the matrix dodging bullets.
any way this levitation really interested me, but after I saw some more episodes I realized that about 60%-70% off the stuff he does there are with stooges and camera tricks, so it kinda took out all the interest of the trick.
but a few days ago I came across the T.H.E.M show, where they did the same levitation, only in a closed room and with, what they claim to be, real unpaid spectators (and actually that's the hole point of the show, pranking people with magic tricks), well assuming the people where not stooges, I thought about how they could perform this and I just couldn't know how, the trick suppose to be good enough to not be seen in close up, which eliminate cables and stands.
I thought also about some sort of device that could support them by attaching them to the ground by there feet, but there was no clue for such a thing in the floor before or after they did the levitation.

Any one here has a clue on how they did it (again assuming the spectators weren't stooges)?

By the way, sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language.

Hi iummydd - first up welcome to talk magic.

Please don't be put off but we do not talk about revealing actual methods here so even assuming we did know, it is not something we would discuss.

Hope this won't put you off participating in future discussions...
