Salutations fellow mystery makers

Postby Kevin Cann » Oct 28th, '05, 15:50

I've just recently been introduced to this site & have posted a few comments already so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I've been performing magic for about 12 years now in my spare time - mainly stage & cabaret for churches, youth groups etc.. (groups of 10 to 1000). Have also performed on the street.

I'm now getting into close-up but have only performed at work xmas banquets and for groups of friends.

What really turns me on is mentalism. I recently won a holiday camp talent contest doing an impromptu book test & am currently practising with my 'super sharpie' boon to anyone I meet. I've also just bought PK Silverware and ordered an M5.

Anyone can do tricks but I think it's the entertainment bit that's difficult. I find it easy enough for cabaret where I can take my time with volunteers but more difficult for close-up where you often have to be fast & 'punchy'. I wish I could find a book with all the bits of business & gags associated with close-up effects !!

Live long & prosper

Hi Kevin, welcome to TM!
(although, as a mentalist, you knew I was going to say that…and what's more, I knew that you knew…….etc. :D )

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
