Magic Cigarette Packet

Postby chris2215 » Oct 31st, '05, 12:33

Has anyone used this web site;

International Magic www.internationalmagic.com They have some very impressive effects that i have never heard of. One effect that caught my eye was 'Magic Cigarette Packet ' (£8.50)

The description says;

"An ideal trick to perform any time, anywhere! A cigarette packet is cleanly shown to be empty. The cigarette packet is simply tapped and instantly it's full of cigarettes. All of the cigarettes can be given out and used! Impromptu Magic at its BEST!"

Sounds perfect for down the pub. Any help would be great.

Hi Chris,

I have not used International Magic but I used to have the effect (until it got thrown away being mistaken for an ordiary empty cig packet :cry: )

It really is as clean as it sounds.
I used to remove a cigarette for myself (clearly showing that there were more in the packet) close it then remember my manners and offer the other smokers in my company a cigarette. Only when I opened the pack this time there were none there.
I would then wait for another kind soul to offer their cigarettes and when everyone had one I would show my pack to be full again ! :twisted:

Hi Hodgkinson,

Thank you very much for your reply. I am very tempted by this effect.

I assume the cigarette packet can not be examined? If this is the case good presentation skills will presumably be needed to control the audience as they will probably jump to examine the packet?

I am already starting to think on how i could use this. In theory you could plant the packet on a table and show it is empty and then magically make the box full of ciggies and offer a few out?

Chris,

International Magic is an excellent shop. If you visit it, you'll find Martin and the guys very friendly and always willing to help. I shop there all the time.

They are holding a magic convention at the end of November. I have got a weekend ticket to it and I can't wait! There's going to be some top magicians from around the world there.

If you go into the shop you might be lucky to run into Jerry Sadowitz, who helps out there when he's not performing. He's a top guy, and always willing to show you tricks should you need convincing before buying them.

Hope this helps!

I don't think so either. If you do find one please let me know, and I will update the website. Possibly the nearest to you is Mike Danata's. (Nice guy by the way).

I've ordered from International Magic in the past...seem like quite a good company. That effect's also available from http://www.alakazam.co.uk/acatalog/Gene ... ic_31.html and you can get it with crayons as well...crayons appear/disappear from a Crayola box etc.

Yes, International Magic are good for a lot of effects that you don't find elsewhere. They've also got the widest range of eggbags I've come across.

You're right, although I have never had anyone want to examine it as the cigarettes are completely normal and the box looks just like a normal pack when in the full position

Yeah I go in there alot as well. I find everyone there to be friendly, but often the guy with the long permed hair seems incredibly apathetic, if not a bit snooty. I am sure hes a nice guy, he just isnt when I am around.
