As you've correctly pointed out, this is a magic forum where the members are almost ALL magicians. We exist to suppoert each other and offer help where it is needed. What else would you do on a magic forum for magicians?

For the record, the record will not change.

We also talk about each other and you will perhaps notice that we have an introductions section for this. Your friend was not contributing to the forum as I recall and was posting endless and repetative comments abouth Stephen who is a good and upcoming presenter and magician. Nobody is denying that. The problem was that your friend was given a number of warnings by our Moderators that she appears to have ignored. That's not advisable on any forum, let alone this one and this will no doubt be the reason that she is being blocked.

There you have it!

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hello there.

You're right, we do talk nothing but magic. That's what TalkMagic is all about. That being the case, it's quite annoying to read sum1 who duz thz 2 da English language and doesn't seem, from what she's written, to be interested in magic itself.

I'm sure if your friend re-registered and accepted that this is a community of both amateur and professional magicians, basically here to talk nothing but magic, she'd have a ball, but only if she's into the nuts and bolts of magic too. If she's not into what we're into, she'd be better off finding a site more in tune with what she likes. There's quite a few. Stephen's a very popular lad.

Right - let's settle this nonsense once and for all. Either you or your friend (or both) have totally the wrong idea about TM - we are not a Stephen Mulhern fan club and we spread our appreciation much wider than one magician and encompass techniques, shows, effects - not just emotional statements about one individual performer. Your remarks about changing the record would be amusing if they weren't so insulting - your friend, presumably I-Love -Stephen-Mulhern aka Louise, had only one topic of conversation so any record changing suggestions need to be aimed in her direction before you aim at TM. Your friend persisted in posting the same message over and over again, despite being asked not to do it and despite being given several weeks before she was excluded. Over and above this, one of the messages we deleted used some rather distasteful gutter language which isn't tolerated here on TM and is certainly not appreciated coming from a 14 year old girl. On TM we have standards and, if folks aren't comfortable with that policy then they have the choice to go elsewhere. One of the other standards we have which she found hard to deal with is the use of a spell checker, proper grammar, minimal use of abbreviations and no TXT speak. Perhaps you'd like to check your two messages above in this connection?

To sum up, Louise wasn't excluded for saying she was honoured to see Stephen writing here (in fact he only posted one message!), she was excluded for the reasons stated above which were advised to her each and every time we had to deal with them.

By all means visit and discuss magic - that's what we're here for and all the other replies above should show that this is pretty much understood by most members. If you want a fan club for Stephen, or one where you just get to know people and chat, then go and form one and we'll all wish you the best of luck for success.
