Magic Books and DVDs

i was wondering if any one could tell me which of these would be best suited for an AH, card tricks mainly and impromptu tricks mainly. Also take into consideration that I do alot of street magic so angles are a factor.

The art of astonishment by Paul Harris 1-3 (books)

1 & 2 of Jeff McBrides Art Of Card Manipulation.(videos/dvds)

Simon Lovell: The Methods Behind the Madness (3 DVD Set)

Complete Card Magic with Gerry Griffin - The Definitive Set Volumes 1-7 DVDs

THE CLASSIC FORCE with Paul Green (DVD)

The System by Dan and Dave Buck DVD

Green Lite by Lennart Green (DVD)

Michael Skinner's Professional Close-Up Magic 1-4 (4 DVD's)

the Ammar Easy to Master Card Miracle series 1-6

Lee Asher's Five Card Stud (DVD)

Simon Lovell: The Methods Behind the Madness (3 DVD Set)

Lucky Sevens with Gerry Griffin (Volumes 1-3) (3 DVDs)

Royal Road To Card Magic Book

If I missed any good dvds or books please feel free to suggest them. Also I think the system is a little bit out of my league but the flourish do look nice.

thanks
kemo

p.s. i had no clue which topic to put this in so i hope it fits here.

Ammar's a real safe bet. By the way, if you end up buying the Simon Lovell 'Methods behind the Madness,' let me know because I've been looking to buy that for a while now!

Classic force dvd

Postby flunkie_uk » Nov 2nd, '05, 13:36

I have heard some bad things about the Classic Force DVD.

When I first started I was tempted to get it and I asked around a bit. Basically there were two pieces of sound advice that I was given that precluded me from buying this dvd.

One was that a good way to learn the handling is to get a fair sized hardback book and put it on the table in front of me. Then perform the force using the pages of the book as a makeshift hand .

The other piece of advice was, once you have got the handling down, just to do the force; do it all the time, even when you don't need to. When your trick involves having a random card selected (i.e. no force required), classic force the card on them anyway just to see if you can do it. This has worked for me. While I am not the world's best classic forcer I am relatively proficient after following these two pieces of advice. Hope this helps.

Ammar's DVD's are fantastic. His style is great. Really easy to follow as a teacher and with a light, easily accepted sense of humour. The tricks on his Easy to Master Card Miracles are just great. I (being a learner hobbyist) have learned three really well (I decided it is best to concentrate on knowing a few really well, rather than loads badly). I use Your Signed Card, That's It (a fantastic trick that gets the audience member really involved in a sillly way), and Reset (a lot of magic in a very short space of time). Can't fault them. :D

Hello Guilio

I think Reset is in Volume 4. I have just ordered this DVD and I'm waiting for it to be sent to me.
