Blade Master - I never said the Egyptians used the same cards - just that playing cards were around BEFORE 1371, which is a well documented fact.
I am well aware that they weren't the same cards, originally - but when the Mamelukes brought the playing cards to Spain, they were using a 52 card deck - the suits were different, but it was quite similar to modern-day cards.
The court cards are newer, but when they were FIRST designed, they did not specifically represent particular people. That is something that came about as the cards evolved in and around Europe.
