Evening Chapps,

This was a difficult one to film without spectator involvment and room for mis-direction .... but i've tried to modify the routine slightly so it works ... let me know what you think ... i know my CP is a little sketchy, i only figured it this morning so give me a little bit of direction on where to learn it properly.

Showed this to my brother and he didnt spot it.

It's a 10Mb WMV ... should stream fine on Broadband.

Hey that was really good! I can't fault it that much only that I think it would work better without the 'squaring' motion before the second change. Looks a little sus, altohugh I'm sure a regular spectator wouldn't notice. Also I do quite like the 'swipe' at the end to produce the joker.

Really good though I thought, but don't listen to me too much as I've only been doing cards for a few months.

I do really like this trick though. I showed my parents today when they came to visit and there is just something about changes like that, that just seems to blow people away.

I agree. Changes are excellent, especially very visual ones like the Shapeshifet and that shake one

I thought that it was a great presentation and I spotted nothing sneaky.

I must say that I enjoyed the fact that it was shot in black and white and the ending credits were just so funny - made me laugh

Spot on couldn't really spot anything wrong with it keep up the good work.

Good - work on your DL though - the get ready needs to be smoother and more natural.

Your control of the cards is quite obvious and the technique was weak; this was quite evident in the second "side steal" (although I don't think that's a traditional side steal?). That needs practise, and in my opinion, you should only have to do that once. Why not use a double under cut as the control for the first selection? That way you control the card whilst giving the impression that you're mixing the cards in preparation for the selection of the second card. Then use the side steal to control the second card. By doing this, it's less technically demanding on your part and also you're not repeating the same move twice i.e. doubling your chances of getting caught.

The other thing that I didn't like is your dribbling of the cards to hide what you're doing. It doesn't make sense to drible the cards in a mishap way, only to sqaure them up again. There are plenty of other ways of holding a break and this idea is quite weak, becuase it just arouses suspiscions.

Nice idea of a trick, but it would have been nice to have some patter as well.

With the second change - I can't remember the name - try doing it a tad faster. You can see how it "changes" so to speak without giving much away.

doesnt really impress the normal magician, but if you do it to laypeople. they will freak.

i dont like your controls you seem to slow down and want to cover up something at that point..hmm. But i enjoyed it. Tis good lol

I think most of the "moves" you used were very good and invisible to any spectators eye - even if us magi can understand what you did on principle alone. However, I would work on making the routine a bit more fluid. Saying that, I have no doubt that anything lacking here is more than made up for by your patter when using it in a real situation.

Another suggestion, I don't know how good you are at it (I say this because mine's pretty poor) but the section where the two cards are selected would be much better if you could do a sneaky pass (whichever method you find most natural) to get ready for the next phase.

That was good - a couple of comments though.

1. Why are you dribbling the cards messily? I mean, I know that it's in preparation for the side steal but a regular dribble should be messy enough to justify a quick square-up.

2. The second control was painfully obvious...I could clearly see the card on top. The side steal is a nice control, but personally I would stick to easier controls and use the side-steal for a color-change as you can just wave over the top card to change it.

Apart from that, it was definitely well done and both of those points will go unnoticed by spectators so no reason to worry .

SirRawlins - nice effect! Ok, the sleights aren't perfect - but the execution of the moves would be easier in live performance.
