im new to these forums and yeh
i havent been doing magic for long
around 1 week
i dont have any video's yet as i have no camera

today at school, i decided to bring my cards [airport cards] as i cant get any decent cards here in melbourne, and i performed a ambitious routine followed by a shapeshifter which was kinda stupid, but suprisingly the people were amazed even when i accidently showed a bit of "secret" in it

i also attempted to do a asher twist with a whole class standing infront of me luckily, my handling was extremely poor and i wasnt even doing it correctly, people were still getting shocked :D which i found quite spectacular even when using airport cards :D

so my point today, airport cards are no problem to use in card magic :D
and my 1 week of just watching sample video's has paid off

yes, i learnt all my magic by just watching sample video's off sites (ellusionist), i havent bought any dvd's or what so ever

will post a vid clip of some of my magic once i get a camera

Thanks for that bud,

Both of those routines use mildy simple handling, you wont notice the benefits of using better cards untill you start using them.

As you grow your repetoir of tricks you will start to see the flaws in the cheaper cards.

Look around on the Net and you will find plenty of stockists for Bike, Tally-ho and Bee's which are all well recieved as Magic cards.

Congratulations, kitsunee.
That's how almost everyone started out (different tricks, of couse!).
You are well on your way to becoming a performer. (You are already a magician, even if you don't realize it yet!)

cheers,

Also .. as you are a new magician, i am inclined to Suggest "Born to Perform by Oz Pearlman" ... but unfortunatly I'm not promoting penguin at the moment.

Look around for some Jay Sankey stuff, his tricks are usualy quite simple to perform and give a nice effect.

an update
i did more magic today at school
haha, i did some colour changes which i learnt on my first day of watching sample video's, i just found out the secret really easy
i did the erdnase colour change for a friend
and he kept asking me how to do it as he couldnt figure it out
he was full on burning down on my hands, asking me to lift up and stuff, which i actually did, then i would perform the thing at the right time

now ppl are calling me the chinese shiftyness, lol
and i also did the produce 4 ace with the false cuts
and this gothic guy chucked a whiteboard duster at me because i produced the last Ace in a fancy way, haha, and the last trick i did for the day
was sorta copied, the acting that is, i decided to be a retard and act like criss angel, and told my spectator to focus on that ace of hearts or what ever i put on the table, told him to try and change it using his mind, whilst talking like criss angel

in the end, he ripped up the card and i was sad :(, my lovely airport cards

anywayz, my point today is that
magic can suprise yet anger people
beware

and for now i dont plan on buying magic, as i do not have any online banking account as my parents dont trust me, haha
that explains why i still use airport cards
and there are really no magic shops in my area =\
figuring out magic tricks isnt really a problem for me, just takes me couple of hours of staring

So, have you joined TalkMagic just to tell us that you don't pay for effects and that you've got really good without spending any money?

Your chocolate medal is in the post, oh little one...

Why have we fallen out with penguin again?

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

So did I. It is a good DVD, just if it was sold somewhere else.
