Two rings and a rubber band plus by Peter Roberts.

The Effect
A rubber ring mysteriously links on and off two metal rings.

Cost
£22.97p from www.emagictricks.co.uk

Difficulty 3
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Review
This is my all time absolute favourite routine, the props are ungaffed, this routine relies soley on technique. What you get is two 4 inch metal rings 1 steel plus 1 Brass, a bag of rubber bands and a superb instructional DVD, which shows the full 5 minute routine performed by Mr Roberts who then goes on to discribe and show the moves, all shot over the shoulder for ease of learning. The moves are very clever and cannot be detected, you are able to show that the rubber ring can link to and unlink from the metal rings at will.
Some of the moves described include: the hypnotised ring, a link through the back of your hand, the one handed unlink and the steel ring leaping around in the air totally disregarding its own safety. Finally there is an extreemly clever link and a snapped and restored rubber band.

Overall
This routine is what i call sweet magic! Good fun, not difficult to learn and in my opinion worth every penny!! 5 minutes of pure entertainment.

Thanks for the review.

It looks very workable for walkaround, so it has my interest. It may have been nice if the rings were just a little bit smaller (perhaps) - but I daresay you can substitute them.

How long did it take you to learn? and to put that in some perspective, do you do any other rubber band magic?

Thanks

The routine is suitable for close up, small stage, walkaround and maybe street.
Took me about 4 weeks to get the routine upto performance standard. The patter took me a little longer.
You could use smaller rings but this could cause problems for some of the moves.
It is visually amazing.
If you use Mr Roberts patter, it is very amusing, or you could obviously use your own!!!
You really do have to see this to appreciate it.
I do'nt do any other band magic yet, but want Dan Harlan's Band Shark for Christmas. (subtle hint to her indoors!!!) :D
