silent magic! (read: patterless card magic)
i've found that when out in pubs/club/general loud places you find student types/ my friends always find a friend and start asking me to do some card tricks, from this i've had to sort out a variety of tricks that can be done with no form of patter (rather than leaning over shouting in someones ear all the time while doing a trick, its not right). i was wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences, or advice/ideas on what tricks work well in these situations

I dont do this sort of thing but i'd suggest stuff like,

AS EFFECTS

mouth coils
d'lites


AS CARD TRICKS

Hum difficult - I'd just do flourishes

And maybe tricks such as Ambitious card which i tink you could alsmost mime. (lol - a bit tacky but if it works)

To be honest...I dont perform alot of this so i this probably isnt very good advice but....Hope it gives some idea...lol

Mouth coils - They are a comedy item really.

Basically you pull a long streamer of tissue paper from your mouth / pocket etc

Very funny after you've just eaten.

card tricks

do short and simple tricks
take a look at sankey's 45, even though most of them are slights, he has little things that can shock people without saying a word
