Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I don't think the time factor has anything to do with it.
I have been a member for over a year now and do not have access to the Resricted (not Secrets  ) Area.

When the mods deem you ready then I am sure an invite will come your way.

Tomo suggests that his being a freelance writer should put the fear of God into all posters.
Perhaps my being a 40-year newspaper veteran (35 of them as an editor) may put the fear of God into Tomo! LOL!

No I don't! I suggest nothing of the sort. In fact, my point is the very opposite of what you've said, Peter! Grrr!

Here's my point: while it's liberating to not feel like I'm submitting copy when I press submit, if someone's going to pull another up on grammar, they'd better be squeaky clean apostrophe-wise themselves

In other words, what's the point of gramatical arguments? None of us have swallowed Fowler's Modern English Usage or Strunk and White's Elements of Style, yeah?

Yes! Exactly!

That's my point.

We're all blind to some area of grammar, just as we're blind to areas of magic, so why try to enter supposedly winnable arguments based upon incomplete knowledge?

That's the best thing about virtual booze. There's always enough to go round.
