Just a quick question. I know, like many others, how the 3 shell game works. However, I've only ever seen it with the traditional 3 shells.

However, I'm wondering whether the same method is used in this version...

...as I don't want to have to do a complicated array of moves [edited by mods] using tonnes of misdirection.

I'm wondering whether it is exactly the same, but just a different look? kind of like the golden 3 shell game, compared to the normal. Different look, but exactly the same.

I can't be 100% sure just reading the blurb, but I would say yes, it is exactly the same method used as the walnut shell version.

As for the moves being complex and needing tons of misdirection, I think you would be surprised at exactly how doable the moves are.

I am not saying that a good 3 shell routine wont need a lot of practice though, but mostly you will find it is practicing the patter with the choreography of the moves that is needed. The actual sleight required is surprinsingly much simpler than it reads.

I would recommend you buy either the set from magicbox, or just a standard set of shells/peas and give it a go. It is very rewarding.

Probably the best 3 shell routine I have seen is the Gary Oullet routine called Super Shells. It is on one of his DVDs, and I believe also available as a stand alone effect with all the props needed (from the Camirand Academy). It is a beauty to watch and well worth any amount of practice needed.

Now this effwect was the best i've seen, i dont know what it was called.

I think the three shell game is fairly easy as long as you get a good DVD to learn it from. I pretty much got it to a basic level in one evening. It's quite a fun effect to perform too.
