Which card tricks would you include in a street magic routine? Like a regular walk-around...

Not really had much experience but...

ACR would be my choice, Joker's Wild, 2 Card Monte .... anything that can be done "in the hands" rather than needing a table ... also helps to keep tricks short and sweet i would imagine.

i have a trick similar to the hit man trick that gets great reactions about 90% of the time... but like rawlins said anything that can be done in the hands... but they don't always need to be short... the biddle trick is good as well too

anything impromtu bascilly... no need to fiddle around with gimmicks. i do Biddle trick, hitman, ACR, maybe NFW if i was doing a hit and run.

I almost only do impromptu effects anyhow.. so mainly ACR.

Without sounding patronising (or repeating yet another suggestion for the Ambitious Card ), I'd suggest visual, fast paced, high impact effects which can be done in the hands; either yours or theirs. Remember, your hardest challenge in this situation is holding their attention and it helps if there is always something happening or about to happen. For that reason, flourishy type routines would probably come accross well.

You could always go down the Blaine route and make an effect out of a simple DL and duplicate card. Infact, his material would be the best source for inspiration on this sort of thing; particularly his first two TV specials which are found on the DVD Mystifier.

Ellusionist.com also pander to the masses by providing specific "street magic" effects, as does Penguin.com and a few other online retailers.

Other than that, and seeing as I have very minimal experience in actual Hit and Run Street magic, I'd aggree with the above suggestions.

Personally, I would avoid packet tricks and stick to an ungimmicked deck

Of course, who uses gimmicks:) ? hehe

Disclaimer: I have no knowledge of street magic so this isn't about that.

If someone asks me to show them something (as opposed to my asking them whether they would like to see something) I often tend to make it up as I go. That is, there are several 'phases' of effects that I like, and I tend to stick them together based on the spectator. For example, if someone is burning my hands I will do something more similar to the ACR as it is much cleaner, but if my misdirection is working well then I can go the route of palming and reproduction...

Hope that is comprehensible as I'm typing in a bit of a hurry here .

Ultimate transpo works well standing up but does need the small gaffe

One of my favourite routines that i learnt a short time back is called "Sudden Triumph" (Jay Sankey). This version of the classic effect is great for walk around(street) and has the added bonus of the cards righting themselves in the hands spectator. An explaination can be found on the Bonus material of Jays "Three Ring Circus" DVD.
I like doing the drunken shuffle triumph that Daryl teaches on one of his DVDs.
Other than Triumph i do Daleys last trick (in the specs hand), and also one where i fire out the card in a similar fashion to the hot shot cut with my own patter.

I do this like trick where I get someone to pick a card and then they shuffle it back in the deck and then I find it again..

Card warp works well on the street, ID is a killer, and I have also adapted Killer-B to do it my hands only.....it works well. Joker's wild is an absolute stunner, and as well the Asher twist creates great visual! Jay sankey has a good trick on "22 Blows To The Head" I think it is called "Fadeout??????" I will check for sure, but it is very workable in a street setting!
