Visiting the UK

Postby taneous » Dec 2nd, '05, 11:54

I'm going to be visiting the UK for 2 weeks - from the 16th Dec to 2 Jan. I obviously would like to visit some of the magic shops. I'll be staying with my family in London - any suggestions?

Magic Shops in London.

:) Most visiting magicians expect london to be teeming with magic shops. However there are very few. You'd best go to
1. Davenports (our oldest firm) 7, Charing Cross Underground Shopping Arcade. Walk up, on the left, The Strand from Trafalgar Square. It's not far up, opposite Charing Cross Underground Station. There are steps going DOWN to it.
2. International Magic, 89, Clerkenwell Rd., EC1R 5BX. Opening hours, 11:30am to 6:0pm (Mon to Frid) 11:30am to 4:0pm (Sat.)
3. Repro Magic. Emu Rd., Tel. 020 7581 3965. I'm not sure if Geoff's Studio is still open or whether it's all Mail Order. It does say Closed at the moment.( 3rd. Dec) Opening hours are listed as 10am till 5:0pm Tues to Frid. Not open Mon. or Sat. My advice. PHONE first.
There's always Marvin's Magic on sale to the Public at Hamleys Toy Store in Regent Street.
That's about it!
