Training, yet again!

Postby Mark Waddington » Nov 9th, '05, 20:00

Well guys,

As part of my apprentiship, i have to go away every 3 weeks for a full week of basic BT training, i can cope with a week, but as from the 14th Novemeber, i will be away for a full month (excluding saturdays and sundays) doing 2 weeks of basic training and 2 weeks of health and safety.

During this period, contact will be EXTREMELY limited, as when i am actually back at home, i will be spending as much time with my family as possible, and in some cases, travelling back and forth to Stafford on the weekends. Not ideal, but i wanted a decent job, and certain sacrifices have to be made though!

Its not too bad, as my partner (far too mature to say girlfriend now, he he he!) will be there for 3 of my 4 weeks, as she works for BT, but in Leicester, so its a great chance to spend some time with her.

Well guys, guess thats me for now, ill be around untill i go, but not too often, lots to squeeze in before hand!

Bye yall!

Mark

Nice to hear from you Mark and I'm sure that we're all pleased that you're getting on well with BT. I'll PM you with my phone number if you can knock 10% off the bill

If you can manage to get my phone line working again that would be great too!

Have fun.

Unfortunately im only in the wholesale section of BT, and due to the BT annual "mess up everything and give it a new lick of paint" i have no idea about anything any more and just hope that this month long thingy will set me straight in some way ( cant wait to spend some time with the new Mrs Magic Mark in my life!)

Training was kinda tedeous, but the social aspect was fantastic. I got to spend some quality time with Claire which ive been waiting for for a long time so im very happy!

Will be going back on monday so im going to make the most of the weekend!

Hi mark,
I am born and bred in newcastle-under-lyme, and lived their until about a year ago. Have moved a couple of miles down the road, quite near to stone actually. I never expected to see the name mentioned on here.
Hope you have a good time here.

Hi Mate.

Its not actually Stone i go to. Its a small place called Yarnfield which has the BT training school. Its a nice place and im still to taste the delights of the Labour in Vein at the bottom of the road!

Newcastle rocks mate! We started our night in Revolution and worked down onto the Presinct to a club called Fluid just opposite the Warner Cinemas. Was a fantastic night, i think we are heading down for student night next week (well, i at least hope so, spent a fortune on new clothes to wear for it!) any chance of catching you in there one of these weeks?

I think I know where you mean.
THose bars you mention are old haunts of mine. Though I also tended to go to the more rock/indie/alternative friendly places. I actually met my fiance in revolution. Have been a bit boring in recent months, and not ventured into those haunts for a while. Won't be there this week as I have had to become all grown up and get a job as a teacher, and have dreaded observations this week. Have a good time mate. Pm me if you are out during the next few months, as i should be venturing out more towards xmas.

Ah, Stone - happy memories of the place.

Was in and out during training at various stages from Apprentice through to Tech2A and then TO, and Exec Engineer grades - then left the club and got a job as a minister and thought I'd never see the place again.

But as things transpire, left ministry for job with unemployed and then got headhunted into IT job in city and six months in was asked if I could do a telephone project - the result - back to Stone for all the Meridian courses!

I'm only half an hour from Stone and there's lots of us magical types around and in fact you're an hour to seventy minutes away from the Coventry Magic Circle's show a week tomorrow.

Let me know if you're interested.

Hi guys!

Im now back from week 3 of 4, just 1 more week to go then i get to stay at home and work from Leeds untill the 16th January. During this time, i will be going to stay with my girlfriend in leicester for a few days, and shes will be coming to stay with me over new year for 2 nights, I cant wait to see her again! She dropped me off at Stafford traian station yesterday and thats the last i see of her untill the 17th  only 2 weeks to wait though, and i have plenty to keep me busy untill then (week 4, massive christmas booking at Eureka etc etc).

Will be spending this weekend rehearsing in preparation for my Eureka! booking next weekend, and also making a start on some christmas shopping (the plan was to start to day, but when i got back, i realised all i had bought was some new clothes for me!) so thats going to keep my hands full, then the weekend after its time to see Claire which will be another weekend of christmas shopping.

Speak to you all soon

Mark

P.S. i was in Newcastle under Lyme again on wednesday, what a night that was, Vic!
