Spin change

Postby Fireheat » Dec 13th, '05, 21:52

Alright... the spin change.

Is the spin change really difficult to master?
People say that's the hardest change alive.
I already ordered the Color Changes Starring Jay Noblezada (i hope its coming soon!). :D
Btw, isn't the spin change and the bertram almost change the same?

I'd like to hear others magicians opinion about this trick.

Blade Master...you could've made yourself useful and left a link the that other thread of yours...like this

I haven't managed to perfect this one yet but Brad Christian teaches it on Ninja 1 from Ellusionist.

My knowledge of the bertram change is fairly limited but if i remember correctly it is similar in the fact that is the complete reverse of the technique used. Please correct me where appropriate.

In my opinion, shapeshifter and erdnase rule all.

They are my favourite changes also, and also a quick pass face up (I don't use the classic pass, but you could)

:D

Well, if your getting the DVD in a few days, why not just wait and make your own decision on its difficulty?

I prefer the Bertram Change over the Spin change anyday. The spin change has too much of an arkward positioning, whereas with the Bertram Change, it looks natural and fluid.

Jay Sankey does a version of the shapeshifter where he doesn't snap the cards - he shakes them. Does this have a separate name or is this still the shapeshifter change?

Think that's a turnover change. I'm not too sure. It's used in Joker's Wild. (Excellent trick by the way... Did it today)

I think that evmeister is talking about a different one. I think he was talking about the one where he makes the hole in the card jump into the circle.

I may be wrong, but I think this is the one you are talking about :?:

The change I was talking about is indeed the one in Joker's Wild. Jay Sankey calls it the Twirl Change, so just 'cause Sankey is the man I say thats it's new official name. Not sure which one you talking about there Kev, stevebo had the right one. Never mind ay, another magical conundrum resolved. I'll sleep better tonight.

spin change

Postby andrewskater13 » Feb 25th, '06, 23:53

In my opinion, this card change is an excellent change. The only thing is that it should but used very seldom within a trick. If oyu want to use often may I suggust Jay Sankeys Snow Storm I got it and it is an excellent trick.
Also If you like changes the wink change is an excellent one too. but it is angle sensitive.

I'm not sure I agree with this. By the time you've finished mangling the card around in your hands to prepare yourself for the bertram change, I think you've lost any conception that it could be natural. Both changes are very angle sensitive and I think the effect of the card changing as you spin it is far more visually astounding than the bertram change.
