Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

I don't own this, nor have I ever done it, but I have seen it performed. I saw it twice, the first time the guy covered the nut and bolt with a silk and talked for a minute or two, the second time you saw the nut actually unscrew. The second time I saw it I immediately worked out how it was done, but neither time did I hear anything. Admitedly there were quite a few people around, but it wasn't that noisy, so what I'm getting at is, is it really that noisy that someone who isn't listening out for a noise would hear it IF YOU WERE TALKING OVER THE TOP, or is there some way of soundpfroofing it? The guy also said that there was a delay built in, so was this perhaps a different version?

How close are we to the point where this thread should be moved into the magician's only section? ;o)

It is the same version as mine I would think - the timer is built in. Admittedly, if you were in a group and people are not sitting on top of the case (figuratively speaking) then the noise might not be an issue. I simply would not be confident performing without the plastic box or other noise-masking kludge - and confidence is everything!

With the use of a container of some sort, the noise issue does not arise in my opinion, even when performing one-on-one with the person right opposite you. Why take the risk of blowing such an expensive secret?
