Just when you Thought...

Postby SirRawlins » Dec 30th, '05, 22:32

you couldn't hate Barry and Stuart any more...

anyone that watched tonights show I'm sure you will agree!

"Make a virgin pregnant!" ... no you didnt boys... you swapped a virgin for her twin sister, any viewer with more than 1 eye and concept of depth perception could see that. Even the "Blind" women could have seen it

I'm usualy quite a calm person ... but these guys make me SO MAD! grrrrrr!

Rob

p.s. I also thought that Jesus might have given the boys some new clothes by now!

You're right Rob, these guys really infuriate me. I hate the little gestures and silly faces they make. Some of the magic isn't so bad, like making the blind woman see, but my god I hate these two. I was looking forward to this magic of Jesus program until I found out they were doing it. I thought this could have been a really good show if presented seriously but... And that making a virgin pregnant. It was the same vanish they used for just about everything on Dirty Tricks. Speaking of which, DT is on later tonight I think. I'll watch to see the effect that Pete Firman does, but after that, it's going straight off, especially if these two goons are on it.

I think the problem is that these 2 make you laugh in a way that makes you hate them even more

they were totally dreadful, Nothig original at all, even DT was c*** (not the best), the same old stuff.. the broken glass in body was ok.. actually no, actually you know what i dont even know if it was performed well anymore

Even with "when tricks go bad" they were there hosting the show

oh man............ and kill foxy

Oh my god! That Jesus magic show was rubbish! I didn't find it entertaining in the slightest (although I still watched it all  ). I thought making the blind woman see was really bad, I didn't buy it for a second. The raising the dead man was just rubbish, I really couldn't stand that bit. The fishing trick was the best imo.

Something quite interesting I noticed at the start was the bit were they say all of the participants are "real people", then they say " they're not puppets.." etc. etc. passing it off as a joke. Well of course they're bloody real people, it doesn't mean they can't be in on it! That left me thinking there were stooges all over the place!!

I'm also glad that I missed it. These two infuriate me so much that I can no longer bear to watch anything that they are associated with.

If anyone from C4 is looking in then PLEASE PLEASE ditch them and quickly.

Yeah, I definitely think there were stooges everywhere, blind woman for example. I liked 'When magic goes wrong', except the parts that they were in. Thankfully they were only in it for a few seconds before the ad breaks. I couldn't stop laughing at the guy doing the card trick. "I have 3 cards..." the kid replied "No there's not, there's 4, I can see them!!!"
The poor guy didn't know what to say

I didn't like the 'Magic of Jesus' programme - and the tricks were pretty awful - feeding the 5,000 what were they thinking??

The Bible says 5,000 men - not people - there would have been at least twice that - and having every hold up a bread and a fish?? what - you can't eat a raw fish like that?? - and what about the twelve baskets of crumbs??!!

The many fish trick was poor - there was about six fish!! - which i'd say was not very many.

If you were blind for ten years, and then you could suddenly see, would you
a) read an eye chart and draw squiggles,
b) talk to and look at your friends
hmmm??

...and the twins trick - well...enough said already i think!

It was really bad!

'When Magic Tricks Go Wrong' - was funny, (Barry and Stuart excepted) and sometimes painful to watch - owww, spike, oww!

Interestingly, this was a little sad from the beginning. The wires causing the jacket to move, the obvious switch and so much more.

Never mind - think it gave many of us in the firm a laugh if nothing else and perhaps means that I'll be stopped for another 'chat' by my local "Christians shouldn't do magic - now look at the trouble you've got us into!" person....

Makes the stuff I do from the pulpit look more cool than normal.

Regards to all,

Vic(ar)

as a postscript . . . as Jing says, 5,000 would have only been the blokes there which means that the number would have been much larger. The water wasn't shallow and wasn't calm either. Joseph's mates and family would have known about twins and swapping (especially when death as a result of being pregnant outside of marriage) was also pretty unlikely.

In all - reprosucing the effect is easy(ish) in most cases but using the same methods sure isn't!
