I cannot say how strongly I hate this book. I have never particularly liked paul zenon's style

I accept that. It is your opinion, I don't agree with it, but you are entitled to have your say.

when a bad magician gives you his worst tricks

I think it wrong of you to say he is a Bad Magician. As I mentioned above I accept you don't like him, but saying he is a bad magician is a little cheap. Also, you may not like the effects in the book, but I would say that they are actually very strong when presented well, so I fail to see how they can be his, or anyone elses worse tricks. To say OOTW is a worse trick just beggars belief.

Sometimes I feel a few people here should have a little more respect for those magicians that are doing well for themselves. I accept you don't like his style, but to say he is a bad magician is (IMHO) not on...

completely forgot ootw was in the book actually.

Jus to clarify, what I mean by a bad magician is just that his handling of such classics is (I feel) not worthy of the effect.

I'm just saying I can't stand watching him personally.

Point taken though.

Personal opinion is OK and the usual forum etiquette is to precede such comments with 'IMO' or 'IMHO' which serves to tone them down a little. TM has an enviable reputation for being fair and courteous so we much prefer it if extreme comments are not posted here if they aren’t in accordance with these principles. It's fine to disagree and have opposing views but there are acceptable ways of doing so.

Also please bear in mind that many of the known names read the topics on TM (they don’t have to be registered to read stuff in the open area) and anything which is considered too strong will be dealt with by their legal advisers. I'm not suggesting PZ would do this but we do know some 'names' who won't hesitate to take legal action against you and/or the Forum. The usual principle is that if it's something you wouldn't say face to face with the person and be able to deal with the response, then it's best to not post it here.

But I would say it face to face, and I don't think anyone should be offended by a comment if it doesn't have "IMO" or whatever infront of it.

but that is just my humble opinion, of course.

An understanding of grammar may also help - the word personally would tend to imply that I am expressing my own opinion as opposed to some etheral and universal truth.

But then that's just my humble opinion.

I don't think anyone should be offended by a comment
That's the problem - people can be and are offended whether you think they should be or not and they may very well respond accordingly. Your original post didn't use the word 'personally', you definitely inferred PZ to be a bad magician and that he presented the tricks badly. You further added to this with the repetition of 'I hate david blaine...' (sic). To be very blunt, none of that is just opinion, they're insults and something which, in our own gentle and friendly way, we tried to point out to you.

Your next part where you say
An understanding of grammar may also help
is especially galling - did you use a spell checker on your messages? Should names be spelled with capital letters or not?

I'm sorry to take you to task over this but TM isn't the place to resort to derogatory comments such as your original ones.
