Crowd puller Dvd

Postby greedoniz » Jan 18th, '06, 12:39

Hello

I'm thinking about purchasing this Dvd whichat £40 seems quite pricey but at 3 hours long is not too bad. As far as I can fathom from it there is no new material on it but more a how to perform and handle an audience in the street,at trade fairs etc.
The thing is though how good is it and can the information be tranfered to table and walk around?

Anyone got it or seen it?

I have tried the search tool and cannot find any record of a review and as far as link-wise goes the website this is available on is www.magictricks.co.uk

Not sure whether the whole mentioning other sites goes so if I have broken a cardinal rule...sorry! I will use my "new at this status" as a feeble excuse

What do you want to know about it?

Basically if your considering doing street magic, I'd say it was invaluable. THe effects he uses are all classics so your not going to learn any magic, but subjects like building a crowd are well explained along with footage of him actually doing it in Covent garden. Many useful tips and plenty of useful one liners. He does cover a bit on things like trade shows too.
All in all covers a lot of ground not usually dealt with on DVDs, so if this is an area of interest for you, i'd recommend it.

Well I'm not really into streetmagic but I thought this DVD might go into how to generally handle audiences of differing sizes whereever they may be and would give tips on presentation etc.
If this isnt suitable then maybe someone might know one that is but I suppose that is for a different thread

I have watched both crowdpuller dvd's and they are excellent. However, I think from what you are saying, if you are not sure if there are transferable skills, then dont buy it. I borught it for 1 reason, and that was the cups and balls routine - which is very good.

A more appropirate dvd might be one of these although there are probably loads more. I am only mentioning these because I have seen them and rate the contents. So in no particular order:

Martin Sanderson's cooperate close up - YOU WILL NEED TO BUY SOME PROPS. Alot of people have mentioned this but its not a major stressor - the props you need will be less than £40 except for the card to wallet - but its such a small part of the dvd.

Real world magic by Mark Mason - simple easy working stuff

Jay Sankey...what can be said - anytime anywhere perhapes.
