my friend - if you want people to help you, help them. Perhaps f you had supplied a link to the effect in question you would have had more replies.

There are many monte effects on the marker. I assume you mean Harold Cataquet's Ultimonte, but you could be referring to Skinner's Ultimate monte.

I only know about Skinner's, but having watched the video for ultimonte it's fairly easy for any [magician] to work out what is happening.

To be honest - I don't like effects like that - it is TOO clean, in that there really is only one thing that could be happening, having said that if you like what you see with Oz performing it, then you know the potential that it has.

Tricks like this, Skinner's Ultimate monte included are great for many reasons, but sadly I have seen many magicians do them very badly indeed, and that is really VERY bad for magic, because apart from showing the spec how the effect is done, and apart from making yourself look like a chump you are also letting the spec know how many other tricks are done, and that is not just a shame. It's criminal.

If you do get this, then please practice it until you have it down pat 100%. Never show it unless you are 100% happy that you can do it. I know that is general advice for all tricks, but more so with ones like this.

Just my thoughts...

Yes that is the one i was talking about. And yes I know how it works also. I actually didnt catch it the first time i watched it. But It seems farelly self working. I know how to do it now im just curious if it would be good to use in public. Although you can show all the cards you can never let the spectator hold them lol. Hmmmmmm decisions decisions.
