you'll probably find that anyone wanting to have a magician at their party or whatever won;t know what an Ambitious Card Routine actually is unless you explain it fully. better to just state "card tricks/ coin tricks"...
personally i just went performing in bars and clubs and passing on my number (in a magical way of course) to anyone interested. unfortunatly I'm no where near confident enough to actually be employed by anyone.

perhaps a CD with a few videos of your tricks or something would be good to pass around to anyone who's interested

There are a number of threads already about performacnes and how to begin.

I would suggest that before you start hiring yourself out you get yourself some invites to friends parties etc. and perform to the people that you know for free or perhaps for a few drinks. You MUST get feedback from them, either positve AND negative as this is what you need to improve.

This will build up confidence and experience and allow you to judge which of your tricks are well received and those that are not. You need a mixed routine rather than just doing nothing but card tricks in my opinion. You need to be very competant in presenting your effects and make sure that you have some 'outs' for when things go wrong because they will from time to time

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
