A Newbie Returns...

Postby Downhill_ben » Feb 1st, '06, 08:57

Hiya people. My name is Ben Harrison and i have been performing magic for the last month or so. This sounds like a very short while, but i am just getting back in to the hobby.
I used to perform na few years ago when i was 10. I used all trick decks and gaffs and although there was no real skill in the tricks, i could keep people interested because i was quite young and figured that was something important. I performed for a year or two back then, and then other things came my way and i stopped buying tricks and perfroming how i used to.
Since then i have had little do do with the hobby, but i could still pick up a deck every now and again, and do some very basic sleights. I was looking through my cupboard whilst moving house around 2 months ago that i came across my old book, Mysterious Stranger by DB. I finished this 2 weeks later, and here i am now. (14 years old) I can do a fair few routines like ACR, 2CM and other than i have taught myself from watching other people perform. I am no where near being an expert performer, but can still put a smile on peoples faces when i make cards appear in pockets etc.

Well there you go. Speak to you all soon.

Ben

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Born To Perform!

I said it first!

Sorry, in joke. Welcome! I'm 14 too, in fact I think there's quite a crowd of us so don't feel too young (ahemMandrakeIdidn'tsaythat).

And especially for Katriel (or anyone esle who can beat him to it!) to save all that long winded typing of Born To Perform every five minutes, if you just type in bt.p (without the full stop) it should automatically change to Born To Perform!
(The things we do for TM members..... )
