Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

it can be done quite easily with the bat , just not as cleanly

Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music. - Kristian Wilson, Nintendo, Inc, 1989..

Although the Raven could be deemed a '1-trick-pony', and the Bat is billed as a more universal vanishing utility, I would recommend that if you're into coin vanishes - use a Raven.

Mog's right: the effect is not as clean, and although we're not permitted to go into detail here, by virtue of the Bat's design, it can easily perform the same style vanish as the Raven.

But the Bat iscomes into it's own with PK effects. There are demo videos posted elswhere on this site. They'll explain in more detail.

Personally, I think the Bat sucks unless you're into making metal objects stick together or making metal objects move of their own accord.

It's and old trick, and not very hard to work out at all.

Both devices appeal to different people. For me, it's the Raven that wins.

however... with the addition of shims etc non metal object can appear to move/stick whatever (just to offer another point of view from seiges    )

if you like pk magic and cant afford the MS or pro PK get the bat

That's what I said!!! (Para. 3)

One other thing I'll add about the Bat: if your imagination is open, and you're a creative magician, the Bat will certainly be a better choice.

I have both, and I only use the Raven now, as the Bat is more for PK magicians.

with the bat, these effects ive seen in the videos seem to have the magician showing his hands closed. are your hands examinable when using the bat?
