Hello!

Hi there, my name is alex im 18 and i live in bucks, i recently went to simon drakes house of magic in london for my work christmas party and became instantly hooked on magic tircks...has anyone been there?(my father is the boss and he knows simon drake)
I then bought the rrtcm from amazon and mark wilsons complete course on magic, i found rrtcm was very good but there werent enough pictures and the language was sometimes complicated to understand, i found that mark wilsons book was too jumbled and had no real structure, i then went on www.magicshop.co.uk and bought card college vol 1 by roberto gobbi and this is perfect as its easy to understand and its well structured, is it worth having private magic tuition?where could i go about getting this?
I got really drunk the other week and attepted to perform tricks even though i wasnt very good and ended up making a fool of myself which has no really damaged my confidence!

I'm sure most of us have done something similar when we first started out learning new tricks - that eagerness to show off your card handling prowess (or lack of !!), usually ended up by spilling the cards all over the floor etc.
Nowadays, whenever I learn a new trick/routine, I spend ages trying to perfect it and then I usually show just 1 person, usually my missus. She's got quite a sharp eye, so if she's impressed then this invariably gives me the confidence to perform in front of a larger audience, more often than not, this is my m8's down the local

The key is practice, practice and ..... errm .... more practice 8)

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Welcome to the drunken magicians forum, we're holding weekly Alcoholic Magi Anonymous (AMA) meetings. Will I be seeing you at the next meeting?

Thanks moonbeam for the advice, but unfortunately my gf doesnt seem to see the serious side to magic! Its amazing the amount of work goes into each trick and sleight!
Thanks for the welcome dat8962!
