Introducing Myself...

Postby Slyszer » Feb 8th, '06, 16:07

Hello all,

My name is Jordi, and I'm from the Netherlands.
I've been practicing magic for a half year now, and I really love it.
Currently I'm trying to specialize in Card Magic, since it has my greatest interest.

My greatest influences are Oz Pearlman, Daryl, and Richard Sanders.

See you around!

Hi and welcome to TM

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Cards

Postby DrTodd » Feb 9th, '06, 08:09

Welcome to TM..I like Paul Harris and John Bannon. Great stuff in IBannon's mpossibilia. Also Jay Sankey has some really nice card stuff on his 'Three Ring Circus' DVD. You need to be patient with his sense of humour. Check out 'dowsing', very good and can be done on the spot with any deck of cards. I also like some of the stuff in the Dai Vernon collections. Expert at the Card Table is an essential read for all the basics and the Nick Trost collection has a great appendix with all the best sleights for making up your own routines.

My Dad emigrated from Leiden to the US in the 1950s and he helped me learn my early stuff. Saw a great lecture from a Dutch magician when I was growing up. I guess the magic scene is pretty good there.
