it can be found in a number of places... Larry jennings "up in smoke" manuscript or his "Thoughts on cards" dvd or David Regals "to mix or not to mix" are just 2 variations on this effect

Oil and Water is taught by Mark Wilson in hisComplete Course in Magic- in my edition, it's on page 101. If you don't own this book, then I strongly suggest you buy it - it's an absolute corker.

this might be a stupid question, but why do you want oil and water? What's so good about it? I've not seen it, but after reading this thread and googling onto alt.magic.secrets (which has a number of sources) there are comments that refer to its difficulty, but not what the presentation is.

Do you recommend that I take a look at this one too?

To see a version of Oil and Water performed by Rune, check out his video here!

If you have Mark Wilsons Cyclopedia of Magic, (The small one) then it is on Page 133 :D

There are so many versions of Oil & Water you need to decide what sort of difficulty you wanna go for. There are also some gimmicked versions. Do you wanna have it inspectable before and after?

I wanted an easy, ungimmicked version and I found this version of Oil & Water on Gerry Griffin's Complete Card Magic (Volume 4).

Rune will probably be the best one to ask - send him a PM or email.

I must admit I like Derren Brown's version on the Devils Picturebook.

It's clean (ie no gimmicks) and not too difficult to master. There are also some more classics presented on this video in Derrens distinct style.

Lovely.

There's an everso easy gimmickless version using only 3 cards.

I think it's pretty much public knowledge, so anyone interested, lemme know.
