Gone - Ryan Lowe

Postby nikyas » Feb 11th, '06, 01:41

Name: Gone

Available: http://expertmagic.com/html/store/gone/gone.html

Price: $20-$26

Maker: Ryan Lowe

Difficulty:2/5

Effect: As the title suggest...it makes small items gone!!!

My review:

I never saw MELT before but judging from the reviews i guess that GONE is pretty much the same as MELT.

Some preparations and gimmicks are required. This magic can be done anywhere and anytime( with the gimmick of couse). However we have to be carefull with the angles. This magic can only be done in a certain angles.

No complicated materials required. Just some basic usual stuff that can be easily gathered.

The video itself is good. It's easy to understand and i must say Ryan Lowe is a good teacher. He doesn't seem to read from a script and every thing he's done look natural.

Overall i think this is a good dvd.Having said that, i must warn u guys that i am still a beginner. Be aware! LOL

What so you'are saying it's just like melt? Hmmm I think i'll wait for someone who has had melt and can compare it. I don't want to buy the same thing!

Thanks for the review though.

MELT is different in performance as the coin, or other small object (which can be borrowed), starts on the back of the hand, vanishes and reappears in the palm of the same hand as its turned over.

I've never seen melt or gone before, but the video makes it seem pretty amazing. Does it work on the same princible as the raven, or is it a lot more versitile and impromtu?

Cheers. Ben

It's difficult to say much without exposure but MELT is nothing like Raven, where a coin vanishes and stays gone if you like. With MELT it's usually necessary for the coin to reappear and be handed back unless you make other arrangements to make the item stay gone. It's not impromptu, there is/are a gimmick/gimmicks which you need to construct but, once constructed, you could set yourself up in advance and nobody would be aware of it. Although the gimmick is used more than once, it will need replacing. The MELT vid shows all this and several routines but you might need to source the materials separately if you don't already have them in your arsenal of magical bits and bobs!

Hmmm tricky question! I bought mine a couple of years ago so have no idea what the current price is. As with all things the secret is where the value lies and, if you want to do the sort of 'impromptu' vanishes shown in the MELT vid then yes it's probably worth whatever they charge these days. Be advised that you will kick yourself when you see what's involved and how simple it is! If you can construct (or are prepared to buy) the necessary gimmicks then you'll have something which is very convincing.

If you got GONE than you don't need to get MELT since the Gimmick is the same only the handling is a tad diffrent. But you should be able to figure it out.
