what program can i use to edit QT movies? and is there a free one i can download from somewhere?
(yes yes, i know, i have very little computer skills)

If you had an Apple, you could do all you need with iMovie (included with your computer's OSX package).

Aside from that, look at www.versiontracker.com, search in the Windows section. It's a good place to look for freeware/shareware

Can Windows Movie Maker import QT movies? I'd guess that it could but I don't know.

Then why bother replying!?

To answer your question Kati, they unfortunately can't. The .mov format isn't recognised by Windows Movie Maker.

Another option would be to buy the Quicktime Pro edition which gives you some more options. I think it works out to about £12 in the end.

Ah, unfortunate that. Yes, I think the only option would be to buy either QT pro or else invest in a better video editing program if you're going to do a lot of editing.
