Routine history help required.

I am doing a little bit of work on an idea I've been playing with and need some help. I don't want to reveal anything on the public forums, so would be grateful if someone with the appropriate knowledge could help out by way of a PM.

I need someone who has a fair understanding of card sleights and their origin and routine history and development. I don't require a transfer of any deep knowledge, just an opinion on a few questions.

And before anyone asks I'm not writing a book or developing an effect. Its a little more off the wall than than. :)

I'm a still a relative newbie to magic but I enjoy a research challenge. I would consider myself to know quite alot but don't have the necessary skill to pull it off if you know what I mean. If you want to assemble a team to help with this then count me in.

Hey thanks everyone. Seige got in first, so I'm running my madness past him. Its really just an intellectual exercise, no biggie.

But again thanks for your offers of help. I may take you up on it later on.
