TT Magic

Postby Tommy_C » Feb 7th, '06, 17:53

I've been performing magic to friends and family for a while now and the effect with some of the best reactions is the simple old disappearing silk.

I know there is a bill switch trick out there using a TT and I am interested in learning this one along with other TT magic. Where is the best place to start...can be either book or DVD...and doest it teach the Bill Switch?

Cheers

Losanders DVD "Magic anytime anywhere" contains a number of TT tricks you could use.

I'd highly recommend Darwin's Encyclopedia of TT Magic.

Three DVD's packed full of techniques and routines.

I second dat8962's opinion. Darwin's DVD's are great.

As for the size, I would recommend a regular size. The king size can sometimes be preferable, e.g. when vanishing a king size cigarette, but a regular size TT is easier to handle and much more suited for most effects.

BTW, there's no harm in having both in your pocket.

Bear in mind that TTs can be moulded a little for billet/bill capacity loading... hot water, put on thumb, jam a spoon handle in... this is how I do it...

Bill switches: one of the cleanest explanations is on Sankey's 45 DVD, IMHO. You also get a shedload of other stuff besides.

Not seen Lossander's tho.

sankey goes over the bill switch multiple times in differnt dvds. sankey's 45 was ok, but he didnt really talk. at all. so you couldnt hear what sankey had to think about the angles and such. he goes over it in No Card Tricks. and some other dvds i think. also the dvd Underground has it too (dont get it as i got mine for free).

?!~

For crying out loud, the msn button under my name is to talk about magic with me, NOT A FREE MAGIC GIVEAWAY LINK. dont abuse it

You can't go wrong with Pat Page. Not only does he teach you some strong tricks, he teaches you good technique. And the Secret Sessions DVDs are a steal.
Another good source is Jay Scott Berry, either his Ecllipse Tip DVD or his Illusioneering notes.
