a friend has preformed that trick to me
theres a highly risky move to make
if you can pull if off you can get pretty good response but if you slip juss a tiny bit it blows the whole effect

I`d have to say, this trick was a bit disappointing.the reason is that the effect itself
is more suitable to perform for a fellow magician.
laymen will pass it as an ordinary effect...magicians on the other hand, will much more appreciate the strong effect.but this is also the 'catch'.you won`t be able to perform it for the same person more than once.
so to conclude, for its relative high price and nature of its "do it once for a magician friend",
i`d pass.

I disagree, ive performed blizzard on a number of occasions and although you cant perform it more than once for the same person, laymen are absolutely dumbfounded, everything can be examined and it usually gets a very good response.

I love Blizzard, I think it is a great effect and you can do it more than once you have to be clever in the way you make the switch. To pull any trick off I feel 90 percent is in how well you do the routine.

i performed this trick last night in front of 20 friends, they were just shock with this change... what scares me is, a few of them were screaming and jumped to the stage and grab my cards... but guess what.. nobody ever think about touching the card box where all the original cards are!

bottom line is, this trick really works!

For crying out loud, the msn button under my name is to talk about magic with me, NOT A FREE MAGIC GIVEAWAY LINK. dont abuse it

I always get amazing responses when performing Blizzard. It hasn't failed me yet, despite the seemingly blatantly obvious move that is required. Believe me, despite the fact that it is made under their noses, they will never spot a thing. Blizzard is superb and one of the best tricks in my collection.

You can do this again to the same people. just not on the same day. it is a clever trick and i have never been caught, but now I don't even use the box.

It deffinatly fools people.

Zero000 -
I assume that you want to work out the trick yourself rather than just buy it from a dealer - let's not discuss the rights & wrongs of that right now.

So - What props do you think you have to buy?
Obviously you need some blank faced cards.
Apart from that you don't actually need to use the standard Blizzard gimmick. You can do a d*** sw**** any way you want to. Obviously this would be easier to execute between effects rather than in the middle of an effect. Nevertheless the structure of the performance is designed to give you that moment of misdirection that you need. Why not turn your back while the cards are mixed???

It,s posibble to do a blizzard type effect with an ordinary deck.
which I have done for a few years with out any deck switch at all.
Of course you need to add somthing to the deck.
But in the eyes of the laymen it's the same effect. Blizzard is great if the conditions are wright
