Regular TT

Postby Pitto » Feb 22nd, '06, 19:56

I used the search function but I couldn't find the answer to my question.

I have a king and regular sized TTs but my regular one doesn't seem to fit anything in. What am I doing wrong.

Hardly anything fits.

Cheers,

Pitto

What are you trying to put in there?

Anything really nothin seems to fit I was really hoping for suggestions.

Things other people vanish with them.

I have 101 tricks with a TT but most things in there seem to be more suited to my king size TT.

Some of it may have to do with the size of your hands. My fingers are pretty long and thin, so I also have problems with a regular size tt, if I try to vanish something too large.

It comes from the fact that it takes up a lot of room inside, and when I try to get it on, my thumb is too thin and doesn't "catch". Is this the kind of problem you're having?

Basically, for regular sizes, I don't go larger than a 6-9" silk (a 9" silk has to be really good quality that can compact very tight).

I don't even think a 9 inch silk would fit my problem is there just isn't enough roo forr my thumb and the object.

so.. nothing fits your regular size one but fits your king size one?
seems to me that this is it's own answer! you have big thumbs? hence why they do come in bigger sizes.
if nothing fits the regular one, use a bigger one!

Why??? nothing fits in it

In my experience you are always going to struggle with a reg TT and a 9" silk, you need the little 6" silks for a reg TT

They are great for the vanishing grain of salt though

It seems to me that most people don't really know how to handle TT's. I was at a magic conference this week and a magician tried on a TT & said it was too small for him as it didn't go past his knuckle when this is in fact exactly how it should be worn.

If you get a TT that fits over you whole thumb it is too big (unless you want to do certain effects) for vanishes & productions. You should get a TT that fits fairly tightly on to your thumb knuckle thus leaving space in the other half of the TT for your load.

I doesn't matter that it protrudes from your thumb as you should always handle it so that the spectator never sees it ie. hide it behind silks as you show them, keep the hand moving & show your hand empty by hiding it behind the other hand or pointing the thumb at them rather than sideways.

Oh & by the way I have small hands & use small TT's and can get a 12" square silk in mine . You just have to get high quality, fine silks
