I was a little disappointed that Andy didn't win, but Shayne did good :D!!

Who did you all want to win?

All I can say is thank f*** it's finished.
It was ok - don't get me wrong, and tbh I wasn't too bothered who won.
It's just that my missus watched every episode, then she even watched the re-runs - it's on atm (on ITV2 I think) as I'm typing this lol - I can hear shayne crooning away in the other room

Too much of a good thing...... if u catch my drift

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I somehow think that that might be a load of rubbish, as it is his show, and a 1 million pound contract that he gives to the winner. And who would sue him? If Pop Idol had sued him, do you think he would still be doing X-Factor?

well actually if you look it up on google the guy who came up with the idea of pop idol

In 2004, Cowell created (under his production company Syco), and was a judge on, a new British TV talent show The X Factor, with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. The X Factor was a success with viewers and has returned for a second series in 2005.

However, Cowell was sued by Pop Idol co-creator Simon Fuller in 2005 over The X Factor, saying it was too much a copy of Pop Idol, but after a while they settled out of court. The lawsuit threatened to block Cowell from appearing for the fifth season of American Idol, as Cowell's old contract had expired and he was negotiating a new contract at the time. Upon the settlement, Cowell signed a new five-season American Idol agreement with Fox Broadcasting Company.

Now I must say first off as a huge fan of music I obviously have never seen X-factor or Pop Idol but I was shocked and appalled to see a fella called Chico? on tv this morning singing the most appalling piece of (careful not to swear) garbage entitled "Chico Time". Well according to mid week sales it will be hitting number one on sunday.

Now I realise that I'm not the target audience for this piece of marketing filth but surely they could find someone who can at least hit a note. Wow I'm sounding old.

I may be wrong but surely the point of music is to express ones feelings or thoughts through an audio-based medium? When did marketing and celebrity become the driving force in, what is mean't to be, an artform. I must have missed a meeting. I bow my head in shame at the human race and to paraphrase Douglas Adams "I wonder why we bothered coming down from the trees in the first place".
