Water to wine

Postby sacredbunny246 » Feb 27th, '06, 02:14

OK, so my friends want me to learn this trick simply because I look like the westernized portayal of Jesus. I found one way of doing this with phenolphthalein solution but I am having problems getting the solution. Are there any other ways?

There is a gaff you can buy that allows you to pour water into a newspaper. I imagine that with a couple of these and a little thought you can turn real water into real wine.

The Egyptian Water Box would also be worth looking at.

There are methods that have been around... a couple thousand years, in fact... like a Lotta Bowl/Vase.

My favorite method is a thing known as a Niffen Tube but I've not seen these on the shelf of magic shops in years.

I will look into the methods mentioned. Thanks very much for the suggestions. However, the reason I like the phenolphthalein technique so much is because the transition happens right in front of your eyes. I don't know how the techniques that were suggested are done yet, but from their descriptions it sounds like the transition from water to wine is hidden. Are there any other methods with such a "theatrical" transition as the phenolphthalein technique?

put dlite into a search engine and you should get what I'm on about, iv'e used this to turn white wine into red wine usualy holding a silk behind the glass for clarity.
cover reveal, cover change back so far the silk has not effected the colour change.

I finally found D'Lite. It took a while though. I will probably get it since it seems like it would be useful, but I have one concern. Wouldn't the water glow? Its not a big deal, I just would like to know since it may give away how I do the trick in this case since, if it does, it will be fairly obvious that I use some sort of light.

the right lighting and a silk help and not showing the red wine to long.

Use a mirror glass, and drape a silk over it.
