Card spring trouble

Postby trickyricky » Feb 27th, '06, 17:39

Hey guys,

I was just wandering if anybody can help me with my card springs. My problem is that the cards seem to just fly out off of my thumb and come towards me, and they never go in like a nice flowing way, making them very difficult to catch. The only way that i have been able to do it is by bending the pack outwards instead of inwards. The only problem with that is that its very hard to get much height on the spring as the cards are not very controlled.

So my question is does anybody have any advice for me, and anybody else practicing this flourish, that will help to get more height to card springs and more control to the cards?

Thank you

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

Bending the cards inwards will just be a dribble (which can look absolutely amazing! The Anaconda dribble). To achieve a nice spring, you'll need to first learn to spring a very small distance. Your left hand (if you're right handed) must be in a cradle type position so that the cards don't fly everywhere. So, there cards that fly towards you can now hit your "cradle" and not fly just everywhere.

Just try springing small distances. Then gradually move further apart.

Also, every time you spring the cards start close. You move them further apart in the course of the spring.

Practice determines how far apart you can move your hands.
