Hi,

I joined a couple of weeks ago but I've not had a chance to formally introduce myself until now.
I'm Mike and I'm a 24 year old magician from London.
I started off doing close-up magic about 5 years ago and I'd consider myself to be reasonably skilled at sleight-of-hand (especially card) magic.
Recently I've jumped on the roadworthy bandwagon of mentalism (don't worry seasoned mentalists, I'm not bastardizing the art, I do have an increasing understanding of its ethos!) and I performed a stage act last week of pure mentalism which I feel went very well.
I rarely mix mentalism with magic (unless the situation seems perfectly appropriate) and so I tend to perform straight card-magic in my close-up routines now (with perhaps, if I'm feeling a bit mischievous, a rendition of Derren Brown's 'Smoke' as a mind-boggling magic/mentalism closer) and am going to stick to the Stage for my straight mentalism routines.

Anyway, I'll keep it brief, hope everyone's enjoying the first day of spring! I look forward to the magical discussions.
